After Pakistan’s compelling win against Australia in the second Test in Abu Dhabi this week, the traditional sporting foes will come together next weekend for a very different type of cricket match.
Some of the biggest stars of Pakistan cricket will join on Saturday, 8th Nov 2014 with Australians at the Gymkhana Club in Lahore for a special charity game. The second annual Fayyaz Sumbal Cup will raise money for the families of Pakistani police officers killed in the line of duty.

Sunbury hosts charity cricket match in memory of heroic Pakistan officer

RUPERTSWOOD in Sunbury is credited as the birthplace of the Ashes and the world sport’s most enduring sporting rivalry.

But a cricket game on Monday is all about building a flame of hope.

The Fayyaz Sumbal Cup has been organised by Salesian College groundsman James Caruana, brother of Australian Federal Police member Danny Caruana based in Pakistan. Former Deputy Inspector General of Balochistan police, Fayyaz Sumbal was killed in a suicide bombing in August last year.
